Living Life

" According to the English mystic Julian of Norwich, as well as St Maximos the Confessor, in this life we are in the womb, so to speak, of Christ. This life is only a preparation for life, even though it is already wonderful, with every kind of possible blessing, along with suffering. The issue is how we accept the suffering and whether we grow from it. Our task right now is to grow, to be healthy, to be nourished by Christ, who is our true Mother. Then when we die, we are actually born: those who are healthy, to Life in another, more magnificent, dimension. Faith involves the realization that this time of preparation is vital, and that in fact we will be cared for once we have passed through the trauma of birth-giving, which we see as death" (Brendan Pelphrey)
